Orient Occident is an importer and wholesaler of interior textiles and floor coverings and is one of the market leaders in Finland. Supporting the sustainable development of the environment and the well-being of people form the basis of all our activities.
We are marketing high-class products and are known among our suppliers for our stable financial status, top service, and extensive expertise in the field of interior materials. We have developed several unique service concepts like technical design and maintenance service consultation.
Low emissions and carbon neutrality, recycled raw materials, and easy recyclability already play a significant role in the interior materials and other products we represent. Our goal is to reduce carbon emissions in the entire construction and real estate sector and strengthen its circular economy. We support both designers and real estate and construction decision-makers in implementing projects that meet LEED, BREEAM, and WELL standards with our products and services.
Orient Occident was founded in early 1919 and is still family-owned. The company is based in Espoo – a 25-minute drive from the center of Helsinki. We have own facilities, comprising of offices and a warehouse of approx. 6000 m2. Our turnover is 16 Million Euros, and we have 40 employees.

Through our entire company, we cooperate, promote, and enable carbon-neutral and circular economy-friendly interior design solutions for the needs of the real estate and construction industries.
In addition, we have been committed to the UN's international Global Compact responsibility initiative since 2014. In the autumn of 2020, our cooperation became even closer when we joined the Global Compact's SDG Ambition program as one of the first companies in Finland. The goal of the development work on UN programs is to integrate corporate responsibility goals more and more closely into the operating strategy of our entire company.
